What does FreeJobBid do for Contractors?
FreeJobBid.com is an online marketplace where you can find and bid on projects from the comfort of your home or office. Newly listed projects are sent to you in real time from consumers that are actively seeking a contractor or service provider professional. View photos and attachments about the projects and ask questions to consumers before you place a bid. And one of the great features for service providers is the ability to see what price point the consumer would like to pay to have thier project done! All this is FREE until the consumer accepts your bid. |

What fees are charged to Contractors?
Contractors are charged a small fee when a customer awards them their project. The fee is based on a sliding scale determined by the closing bid price. Fees are calculated as follows:
Under $300: Flat fee of $24.99 $301-500: 7% of the amount over $300 $501-1000: 5% of the amount over $500 $1001-20000: 3% of the amount over $1000 Over $20001: 1%
These fees are refundable under certain conditions and are only charged when you actually win a bid saving you $$ on advertizing! Please see FAQ question regarding our contractor's guarantee! |
Does FreeJobBid offer Contractors any guarantee?
Yes! In all modesty you will not find a more generous guarantee from any of our competitors. Here it is: FreeJobBid will gladly return your FreeJobBid fees if you win a bid on our site and do not get the project through no fault of your own. Example: Consumer accepts your bid and then gives the job to someone else before you begin work on the agreed upon start date.
FreeJobBid will not return fees once you begin a project. |
Does accepting a bid on FreeJobBid mean it is a legally binding contract?
No. Accepting a bid on FreeJobBid.com does not represent a legally binding contract between the job lister and the service provider. Service providers are highly encouraged to give the most accurate bids possible, however, given the nature of some construction projects service providers may need to adjust their bid amounts after physically inspecting the job site (although this happens rarely). FreeJobBid encourages job listers to be as accurate as possible in their job descriptions and include photos of their projects (upload up to ten photos FREE!).

How much does it cost to become a member of FreeJobBid?
It is free to become a member of FreeJobBid. For Job Listers there are no charges at all to use our site. For
contractors you pay a small fee only when the customer (Job Lister) accepts your bid. Please see “What fees are
charged to contractors?".

How will I know if I receive a bid on my project?
You will receive an email that contains a link to review a bid. Simply click on the link and sign in to your FreeJobBid account. You will then see the Bid Form with all the bid details. You may also view bids by clicking on a Bid Received message in your FreeJobBid inbox. Go to your Admin section and you will find the link to your Inbox in the left hand pane. |
What if a Contractor needs to inspect my project first before placing a bid?
Due to the nature of some construction projects we have set up several bid types that a Service Provider can enter:
1. Firm Bid (The listing has provided all the information for the Contractor needs. They will do the job for this price)
2. May Vary +/- 25% (Contractor's bid may fluctuate up or down 25% from their entered bid after inspecting the project. Think of this as a ballpark estimate - only much closer!)
3. Hourly + Time (The Contractor's hourly rate plus the amount of time they estimate the job will take to complete)
4. Hourly Needing Inspection (The Contractor's hourly rate. They will need to inspect the project before estimating how long it will take)
5. Minimum Bid (This is the minimum price the Contractor will charge without looking at the project)
